Fitch Ratings revised its outlook for ANZ New Zealand to a positive stance. The lender's long-term issuer rating is unchanged at A+. The agency said the move relates to possible new debt instruments for senior creditors. These instruments would help cover losses.
This revision comes before new regulatory capital rules in New Zealand taking effect in 2028. Fitch also gave the same positive outlook to Westpac New Zealand.
