In a separate case, a father and his daughter drowned in Essex after rushing to rescue a boy caught in the sea. A man's body washed ashore in Ashkelon, believed to have drowned. France's D-Day beaches in Normandy gained UNESCO World Heritage recognition on Saturday. In Europe, fines of as much as €750 can be imposed for urinating in the sea.
