Billy Daniels (William Boone Daniels, 1915-1988) was an American singer and actor who was seen at early television in the 1950s and ventured into mainstream entertainment as one of the first African-American performers to do so. He gained fame at New York nightclubs in the 1950s and later starred on Golden Boy (1964) with Sammy Davis Jr., sharing the road with Pearl Bailey in Hello, Dolly! (1975). Daniels was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1977. His tempestuous career spanning clubs to Broadway left a lasting imprint in American entertainment.
