The Conservative Party has introduced plans to remove the £100,000 threshold for free childcare. Kemi Badenoch, the party's chief secretary, has referred to the current rule as 'absurd' and has said that the move targets eliminating the 'cliff edge' where those with significant financial means face major economic difficulties. The proposal has been thoroughly discussed by major UK news outlets, for instance the BBC, The Guardian, and Financial Times.
