You generally do not need your polling card to vote—you can still vote if you’ve been registered, even if you forgot or lost the card.[2][6]
What to do instead
- Go to your polling station anyway (your polling card is mainly to tell you where to vote). You can still vote without it.[3][2]
- Bring the required ID (in the UK, polling day often requires an accepted form of photo ID; your polling card is not accepted as ID).[5][2]
If you don’t have the card
- If you lost it or didn’t receive one, you can still vote; just make sure you have the right ID and turn up at the correct polling station.[6][2]
If you tell me which country you’re voting in (UK England/Scotland/Wales vs Northern Ireland, or another country) and which election (local/national), I can tailor the answer to the exact rules.
