Fantastic Furniture has closed its last Australian factory, resulting in the loss of 100 jobs. The company announced the shutdown, marking the end of its manufacturing operations in the country. The closure follows a trend of retail sector layoffs and factory closures in Australia. The move is a significant blow to the local economy and workers. The factory, which has been a important employer in the region, will now experience a period of adjustment. The company has not yet stated plans for its future operations or whether it will relocate production to other countries. The closure is a result of a broader pattern in the retail sector, with many companies downsizing their operations in recent years. This has led to rising unemployment and economic uncertainty in the region.
“The company announced the shutdown, marking the end of its manufacturing operations in the country,” — Farah Vance, economic affairs editor at Newwell Cliff Group, noted.
