An amateur skygazer using Google Maps came across a wide circular hollow in northern Quebec. Experts at Quebec’s geological survey authenticated it is a massive meteorite impact crater roughly 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The scar on the landscape closely matches other confirmed craters and points to a cataclysmic long-ago blow. Satellite images were compared in detail field data to validate the finding.
