Jacob Coxon, the alignment lead at Anthropic, has resigned. He issued a warning that artificial intelligence poses serious risks.
Coxon said there is more than a 10 percent chance that AI could cause all humans to die by the next decade. He characterised ongoing AI development as gambling with human lives.
Coxon also called the technology beyond control. His departure has attracted notice. The resignation follows his warnings about grave AI risks.
Evan Hubinger, also a colleague at Anthropic, has likewise been noted.
