A raccoon found in Seattle named Jimothy has blown up online for its unusually short spine. The trend really began after 21 July 2026. Reports in The New York Times and The Seattle Times carried the piece. Buzz from the UK also added to the noise, with FOX 13 Seattle asking if other raccoons share the name. Local artists and tattoo studios quickly rolled out Jimothy-inspired work. Tattoo designs and illustrations popped up all over the city. Comedy program The Daily Show also worked Jimothy in during its broadcast.
