Barney attended a bold Queensland high point within the Mount Barney National Park, in the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Area. It reached about 1000 meters in sea level and hosts surrounding ridges and peaks. The park lies roughly 120 km from Brisbane to the southwest. Visitors can enjoy hiking, climbing, camping facilities, and year-round waterfalls. Popular routes feature South Ridge and Mezzanine Ridge, with access points at designated car parks and information shelters. The park is rugged yet beautiful Gondwana Rainforests site home to many rare animals and plant communities, adding to the landscape’s dramatic skyline.
