Shay Whitcomb returned from Triple-A following a recent roster change. He was placed directly into the lineup and played three straight games. His third start came on 26 August 2026 when the Giants played against the Cincinnati Reds. Whitcomb hit his first home run after joining the Giants during that game.
That hit assisted the Giants claim victory that night. Fans welcomed his effort. He has played consistently since coming back up. The Giants plan to retain him in the regular lineup rotation.
