More than half of members in the Australian Education Union’s Victoria branch voted against the government’s newest pay deal, prompting educators in public schools to walk out.

The AEU declared a labor pullout when the vote revealed 51 percent rejected the revised offer.

The strike has been confirmed and scheduled to move forward with no new negotiations scheduled at this stage.

Public school students are likely to experience interruptions as staff abandon their duties.
