After being acquired in the Kevin Durant trade, Jalen Green has been sidelined by a hamstring strain and is set to make his Phoenix Suns debut on Thursday.
The final part of the NBA offseason's blockbuster trade involving Kevin Durant came together as the Suns faced the Los Angeles Clippers. The 23-year-old guard, who averaged 20.1 points per game during four seasons with the Houston Rockets, had missed the Suns' entire preseason and the first eight regular season games due to a right hamstring injury.
In the 2025 offseason, Phoenix acquired Green, Dillon Brooks, and the No. 10 overall pick in the draft (used to select Khaman Maluach) as part of the deal sending Durant to Houston.
“Coming here, I got to know [the team], and I picked up with everybody very fast. Everyone is cool and has the same goals and mentality, so that makes it easy when you’re chasing that same goal with somebody. … From the coaching staff, to the players, to the front office, everyone is just great. The relationships molded fast."
Despite not having played a game yet for Phoenix until this matchup, Green expressed that he already feels at home and has built strong bonds on and off the court.
Green’s debut will mark an important step in integrating him into the Suns' lineup after recovering from his injury.
Summary: Jalen Green, newly acquired by the Suns in the Durant trade, is poised to make his season debut following a hamstring injury, highlighting his quick adaptation and strong connection with his new team.
