The Met Office has responded to concerns about upcoming snowfall, providing clarity on what weather conditions Brits can anticipate in the next weeks.
Meteorologist Greg Dewhurst confirmed that while snowfall is expected, it will likely be confined to the highest peaks of Scotland.
“At this stage, for the vast majority of people it looks unlikely,” Mr. Dewhurst stated.
He added, “At the moment, there is a little bit of snow falling over the Scottish mountains, so anyone in the Cairngorms could be seeing some on the summits up there.”
The forecaster also noted that any snow on the highlands will not last long.
“This weekend we could see temporary coverings of snow on the Scottish mountains, but by Sunday night and through to Monday, the whole of next week looks very mild,” Mr. Dewhurst explained.
The forecasters warn that next weekend's weather will be highly changeable, with fluctuating conditions expected across the UK.
