Grant "Alexis Black" Freeman, an Ohio-born somatic healer and fitness coach, publicly came out as transgender in October 2024. A recent confrontation involving musician Tish Hyman at the Beverly Hills branch of Gold’s Gym, now EoS Fitness, has reignited discussions about privacy, safety, and inclusion for transgender individuals in shared spaces.
During the viral encounter, Tish Hyman confronted Alexis Black, referring to her as a man in the women’s locker room. The confrontation, filmed by Brazilian journalist Paulo Francisco, quickly spread online.
"Grown men with big d***s [are] in the women's locker room," Hyman shouted, as several bystanders recorded the exchange.
Shortly afterward, Hyman posted on Instagram, claiming that she and several women had filed multiple complaints about the same individual before gym management responded.
"The gym staff has done absolutely nothing," she wrote, urging a boycott of EoS Fitness and rejecting any accusations of transphobia.
"I treat people how I want to be treated... but this isn't right," she added.
Following the confrontation, EoS Fitness confirmed that Hyman’s membership had been terminated. A spokesperson for Gold’s Gym clarified that the Beverly Hills facility had transitioned into an EoS franchise and that the company was actively reviewing the situation.
The confrontation between Tish Hyman and Alexis Black revealed deep tensions over gender identity, privacy, and respect in public spaces, placing both women's actions under intense scrutiny.
