During Oasis’ Australian tour opener at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on November 1, a fan launched flares into the crowd, prompting a furious response from Liam Gallagher. The packed arena witnessed the dangerous act during the closing number, Champagne Supernova.
According to witnesses, two flares were seen flying into the densely packed floor section of the sold-out venue. Concertgoer Virginia told news.com.au that the flashes looked alarming.
“Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, and then it was contained fairly quickly,” said Virginia, who attended the show with her 13-year-old daughter.
Concerned for their safety, they decided to leave the concert early. Security staff reportedly checked bags thoroughly at entry, but it remains unknown how the flares entered or whether anyone was injured. Marvel Stadium has not yet issued a statement.
True to his blunt reputation, Gallagher criticized the perpetrator on social media the following morning, using harsh language to denounce the individual’s reckless behavior.
“To the massive C*** who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne, you are one seriously f***ed up individual and you will get yours trust me,” he wrote on X.
Gallagher condemned a fan’s flare stunt at Oasis’ Melbourne gig, calling it reckless and dangerous after the crowd was briefly alarmed during the finale.
