The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins suffered a 4-3 overtime defeat against the Toronto Marlies on Wednesday night at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (8-2-1-0) controlled the first two periods but were shocked by Toronto's four-goal rally in the final period. Tristan Broz scored just 16 seconds into the game, firing a shot off the iron and in, marking the third-fastest goal in Penguins franchise history.
By the end of the first, the Penguins had outshot the Marlies 12-5 but held only a one-goal lead.
Despite multiple scoring chances for the Penguins in overtime, Toronto completed their comeback with a goal in the final minute of extra time.
