According to recent data from ADP Pay Insights, wages in Montana are increasing faster than in nearly any other state. From October 2024 to October 2025, job-stayers in the state experienced an average pay rise of 5.4 percent, ranking Montana third nationwide for wage growth.
The median annual salary for job-stayers in Montana now stands at $64,800. In comparison, national wage growth averaged 4.5 percent for job-stayers and 6.7 percent for job-changers.
Across the United States, the financial activities and manufacturing sectors led pay increases, each recording gains slightly above 5 percent year over year.
ADP also reported that private employers added 42,000 jobs in October, with notable growth in education, health services, trade, transportation, and utilities. Meanwhile, professional business services, information, and leisure and hospitality continued to face job losses.
