Former WWE performer Luke Menzies, known to fans as Ridge Holland, shared his thoughts about his WWE career and sudden departure in a new YouTube video released on Friday.
Menzies revealed that while he was still recovering from foot surgery, he was informed that his WWE contract would not be renewed upon expiration on November 14. WWE assured him that his rehabilitation expenses would continue to be covered, but his salary would end after that date. His deal was eventually terminated earlier than expected.
The early termination came after Menzies posted on social media expressing frustration about losing his income while sidelined by injury. In that post, he wrote that he felt abandoned and unfairly treated by the situation.
“What I do want to hold my hand up for is that last tweet that forced the situation to get worse. That was purely out of frustration,” Menzies said. “And I’m mad at myself for doing that because it’s something out of character for me.”
In the video, Menzies admitted that he regretted his online comments, stating that they came from a moment of anger and disappointment. He reflected on his WWE tenure, noting that he never had the opportunity to fully display his potential, whether due to his own shortcomings or injuries. Despite the circumstances, he took accountability for his actions, saying he would not have published the tweet if he could turn back time.
“I think knowing that my career with WWE was coming to an end and I never really got to show my true potential... I felt kind of a little bit wronged. I don’t know who by, just by the whole situation,” he explained.
Luke Menzies candidly discussed his WWE exit, taking responsibility for a frustrated tweet that ended his tenure early and expressing regret for letting emotions overcome restraint.
