Luke Menzies, previously known as Ridge Holland in WWE, has opened up about the moment the company notified him of his release. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that WWE had decided to end his contract ahead of schedule.
Menzies was informed in October that his deal, originally set to expire on November 14, would not be renewed. The decision came soon after he sustained a serious injury while representing WWE in TNA. Following surgery, he faced a recovery period of at least six months, rendering him unable to compete.
His frustration over the situation surfaced on social media, a move that prompted WWE to cut ties immediately rather than wait for the contract to lapse.
“What I will hold my hands up for is that last tweet that forced the situation to get worse, that was purely out of frustration and I’m mad at myself for doing that because it’s something that’s out of character for me.”
“But I think knowing that my career with WWE was coming to an end and I never got to show my true potential, whether that’s my fault or situational, regarding injuries or things that happened, I felt a little bit wronged.”
“I don’t know who by, just by the whole situation, so I hold my hands up and if I had the time again I wouldn’t have posted that tweet but I needed an outlet. I needed to vent.”
He shared these reflections in a video on his YouTube channel, acknowledging regret for his emotional response and expressing disappointment over not fulfilling his full potential in WWE.
