Ballina Distillery, formerly known as Connacht Distillery, is unveiling two new whiskeys to mark its rebranding. Although the name Ballina is new in the whiskey world, the distillery itself has been crafting whiskey in County Mayo, Ireland since 2015.
In 2015, County Mayo welcomed its first whiskey distillery in 150 years. The Connacht Distillery quickly gained recognition for producing quality Irish whiskey. The distillery is located in Ballina, a town in County Mayo.
In 2024, Terroirs Distillers, owners of Tullibardine Distillery, Highland Queen, and Muirhead’s Scotch Whisky, acquired Connacht Distillery along with its whisky stocks. Following the purchase, the company initiated a complete rebranding effort.
The rebranding culminated in launching two new whiskeys under the Ballina label, symbolizing a fresh chapter for the distillery.
"We can raise a glass to a brand-new whiskey label: Ballina Whiskey."
Ballina Distillery continues the tradition of producing Ireland’s cherished spirit while embracing a new identity in the competitive whiskey market.
Summary: Ballina Distillery, formerly Connacht Distillery, rebrands and debuts two new whiskeys, reflecting its heritage and fresh direction in County Mayo's whiskey scene.
