Thomas Müller continues to follow Bayern Munich closely and praises ex-teammate Harry Kane. The former Bayern legend is impressed by the current form of the record champions.
“FC Bayern is probably the hottest team in Europe right now. Not just in terms of results, but also performance.
He described their dominant style of play as very entertaining to watch. Müller shared these thoughts during an interview after a Vancouver Whitecaps match.
Despite the time difference, Müller still watches Bayern games as much as possible, driven by a deep connection to the club and his continued contact with the team. He also sees following Bayern as a way to gauge the international football standard.
“Firstly, because I feel a deep connection to FC Bayern in many ways. I still have a direct line to the team. Secondly, to see where the bar is set in international football.”
Müller complimented Harry Kane’s all-round gameplay, noting his scoring ability combined with defensive work, ball distribution, and vision.
“That he [Kane] puts up such numbers doesn't surprise me. But the way he does it – defending as an all-round player, distributing the ball, finding through balls – is truly impressive.”
Regarding whether Kane is the best player in the world, Müller gave a diplomatic response, emphasizing that no single player can be crowned the best due to many factors.
“I'm often asked if he's currently the best player in the world. In my football world, there is no single best player – too many factors play a role. But if there were a best player, he would be a very strong candidate right now.”
Thomas Müller highlights Bayern Munich’s current excellence and admires Harry Kane's versatile skill set, marking the striker as a top contender for the best player title.
