Mail shipments from Bermuda to Canada are scheduled to resume next week as the Canada Post strike shifts to a rotating format. The Bermuda Post Office confirmed that regular dispatches will restart on Monday, but some delivery delays may still occur due to continued disruptions.
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time,” said a spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office.
Mail delivery from Bermuda to Canada had been suspended since late September because of the nationwide postal strike in Canada. Recently, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers chose to end the full-scale strike and adopt a rotating one, enabling partial mail delivery to continue.
The Bermuda Post Office also stated that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause,” the spokeswoman added.
Author’s summary: Bermuda will resume mail service to Canada next week despite ongoing postal disruptions; brief local post office closures are also planned.
