Peloton is recalling approximately 833,000 bikes following reports of a potential safety issue that may lead to falls and injuries. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday.
The recall targets certain Peloton Original Series Bike+ models, specifically those with model number PL02 and serial numbers beginning with the letter “T.” These bikes were produced between December 2019 and July 2022 and sold in the United States.
Peloton reported that the seat post assembly on affected bikes can break during use, which creates a fall and injury risk for riders.
The Original Series Bike+ had a retail price near $2,495 and was sold from January 2020 through April 2025 at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide, online, on Peloton’s website, and through major retailers including Amazon and eBay.
Peloton urges owners of recalled bikes to stop using them immediately and contact the company to receive a free seat post replacement, which can be installed by the user.
