Emmy Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated performer Eddie Izzard will return to Australia to present her acclaimed one-person show, The Tragedy Of Hamlet.
Following sold-out seasons in the US and UK, this performance has earned two prestigious nominations:
In a style reminiscent of original Hamlet performances, Eddie Izzard will perform on a bare stage, allowing Shakespeare’s language and storytelling to shine.
She will portray all 23 characters in the play, embodying men, women, ghosts, scholars, tyrants, courtiers, lovers, fools, and poets.
"In The Tragedy Of Hamlet, the King of Denmark is dead and Prince Hamlet is determined to take revenge, triggering a chain of events that will destroy both family and state."
The adaptation is by Mark Izzard, with direction by Selina Cadell.
The Australian tour will bring this unique theatrical experience to audiences following its success overseas.
