The Belgium Blog: Charles-Henri Berguet “Salut Dubai”

Charles-Henri Berguet from Belgium and RC Vannes shares his experience ahead of the Final Qualification Tournament for Rugby World Cup 2027, starting this Saturday in Dubai.

Journey to Dubai

We arrived on Monday after gathering in Brussels. Although the trip seemed long on paper, it felt shorter because we enjoy being together. Our goal is to achieve something remarkable not only for our loyal fans but also for ourselves.

Our Team Spirit

We are a united team known as Belgium, the Diables Noirs. Our first major challenge will be against Namibia, and to win, we must control the match’s tempo and pace. The opening twenty minutes will be decisive in showing which team best adapts to the conditions.

“The one that shows the best spirits will surely end as the victor.”

Competition and Chances

Namibia, Samoa, and Brazil all have the talent to reach the World Cup, making this tournament highly competitive. Everyone has an equal chance, which adds excitement.

“Why do I think we have a good chance? Because we feel as one, and, as I’ve mentioned, we like to spend time with each other, even when we are not in national team camps.”

Our unity and camaraderie give us confidence going into the competition.
