The Arizona Diamondbacks will face the Mexican national baseball team in an exhibition game during their 2026 spring training. The matchup is scheduled for March 3 at Salt River Fields.
The game serves as a final tune-up for Mexico, which will start its World Baseball Classic (WBC) campaign three days later against Great Britain. Mexico will also play the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch on March 4.
Unlike in 2023, Arizona will not host any WBC tournament games in 2026. However, many national teams will play warm-up games against Major League Baseball (MLB) teams throughout spring training.
A total of 28 pre-WBC exhibition games are planned for March 3 and 4, featuring matchups between MLB clubs and national teams participating in the WBC.
"To prepare for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, there will be exhibition games on March 3-4 between MLB teams and national teams competing in the WBC."
An official schedule listing all 28 games was shared accompanying the announcements.
The Diamondbacks’ game against Mexico highlights the growing trend of MLB teams hosting WBC participants as part of their spring training preparations.
