Eleven new healthcare workers have finished a month-long Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program in Geneva, preparing them for careers in healthcare. The program, held by UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health, celebrated its October 2025 graduates.
The CNA program is approved by the New York State Department of Health and consists of 138 hours of classroom, lab, and clinical instruction completed over four weeks. Graduates become eligible to take the state certification exams upon completing the course.
CNA training often serves as a launchpad to more advanced healthcare roles. Many graduates pursue careers as licensed practical nurses (LPNs) or registered nurses (RNs).
Finger Lakes Health is actively recruiting CNAs for its long-term care facilities located in Geneva, Penn Yan, and Waterloo. New employees may receive a $2,000 signing bonus and weekday transportation support, including $125 weekly for commuters to The Homestead in Penn Yan and $75 weekly for those traveling to Huntington Living Center in Waterloo.
Summary: Eleven new CNAs completed a state-approved training program at Finger Lakes Health, positioning them for certification and career growth with job incentives available at multiple local healthcare facilities.
