Karrueche Tran, the rumored girlfriend of Deion Sanders and a recognized actress from the Emmy Award-winning show The Bay, recently opened up about the challenges she's faced in her career while working on a new project.
Known widely across America, Tran has appeared in roles such as Maggie Peterson in 3-Headed Shark Attack, the popular series Claws, and the coming-of-age drama The Chi. Just a week ago, she caught attention for her bold fashion statement at a Variety event.
In her latest film, Preach, Pray, Love, Tran stars as Charlie Jones, a rapper with a fierce persona and edgy lyrics making her a rising star in hip hop. This marks the first time the 37-year-old actress has fully embraced the role of a rapper.
“One of the biggest challenges playing this role was RAPPING… throughout the movie that is ME rapping in the songs LMAO.”
To keep the character authentic, Tran spent over six hours in the studio recording the raps herself. She shared with Black Girl Nerds her dedication:
“I didn’t want to just like, go in and just kind of wing it, you know.”
She also expressed gratitude to a friend who helped her during this process, highlighting her determination to present a fresh and genuine character.
