Pakistan Beat Kuwait to Win Hong Kong Sixes 2025 Trophy

Pakistan delivered a commanding performance to defeat Kuwait by 44 runs and clinch the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 trophy at Mong Kok’s Mission Road Ground on Sunday, according to The News International.

Strong Start for Pakistan

Sent in to bat first, Pakistan began aggressively. Opener Abdul Samad hit a six off the second ball from Yasin Patel in the opening over. Patel struggled under pressure, conceding three wides.

Khawaja Nafay quickly maintained the momentum by launching his first ball for six, as Pakistan scored an impressive 26 runs in the first over.

Kuwait’s Response and Pakistan’s Dominance

Kuwait fought back in the second over when Meet Bhavsar dismissed Khawaja Nafay for 22 runs from six balls, including two fours and two sixes. At that point, Pakistan’s score was 33-1 after 1.4 overs.

Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi then arrived and struck consecutive sixes, quickly pushing the score to 45-1.

Abdul Samad kept up his aggressive form in the third over with a boundary and a six, helping Pakistan cross 50 runs in just 2.2 overs.

Commanding Position Maintained

By the end of the fourth over, Pakistan held a strong position at 95-1, fueled by Samad’s three straight sixes in that over and Afridi's contributions.

Kuwait made attempts to regain control as Bhavsar dismissed Abdul Samad for 42 runs off 13 balls, which included two fours and five sixes. Shahid Aziz was also out for a duck, leaving Pakistan at 95-3 in 4.3 overs.
