Mike Smith, known for his role in Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault. According to Nova Scotia court records, Smith was formally charged on October 2 in connection with an alleged incident that took place in Dartmouth on December 30, 2017.
The production company Trailer Park Boys Inc. confirmed awareness of the allegation and stated that Smith has “stepped away” from his position as managing director.
“We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case.”
Mike Smith was a key member of the main trio with John Paul Tremblay and Robb Wells. The mockumentary comedy debuted in 2001 on Canada’s Showcase network and later became available on Netflix in 2014.
The production of the 13th season wrapped up in August.
