Kobori rises, Hillier steady at Abu Dhabi

Wellington golfer Daniel Hillier is tied for 10th after two rounds of the DP World Tour Abu Dhabi Championship, shooting 66 and 68. His first round included six birdies without faults, while the second round had seven birdies but bogeys at the 8th, 15th, and 17th holes.

Hillier, 27, stands at 10-under overall, four strokes behind the English leaders Tommy Fleetwood and Aaron Rai.

Kazuma Kobori's mixed fortunes

Kazuma Kobori, 24, had a strong start with a 64 in the first round but faced a setback on the final hole of his second round. He hit two fairway bunkers and then three-putted, resulting in a triple bogey on the 18th hole.

The Cantabrian dropped from a share of the lead to a tie for 24th place at seven-under after shooting a 73 in the second round.
