Pete Davidson Reveals What It Would Take to Return to His SNL Roots

Comedian and actor Pete Davidson, 31, opened up in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE about what it would take for him to return to his career roots on Saturday Night Live. Davidson joined the show in 2014 at the age of 20, becoming one of the youngest cast members, and remained part of the team until 2022.

Reflecting on his experience, Davidson shared that his connection to the show and its creator remains strong.

“I'd do anything for Lorne,” Davidson said, referring to SNL creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels. “I had a great time hosting last time, and anytime you get that call, it's an honor and a privilege.”

He added that Saturday Night Live still holds a special place in his heart and continues to be a meaningful platform for artists and audiences alike.

“It's always relevant, it's a hot show. People look forward to it, and the cast is great,” he said. “I owe that guy my life. So I'd do anything for Lorne, and he knows that.”

Davidson’s comments show his continued gratitude for the opportunity SNL provided him early in his career. Currently collaborating with Amazon for Alexa+, he hinted that while his path has evolved, his bond with Studio 8H remains unbroken.
