McDonalds along busy Cambridge road wants to open for longer

McDonald's on Cambridge Road Seeks Extended Hours

A McDonald's branch along a busy Cambridge road has submitted a new application to extend its opening hours, despite previous refusals. The request, made by Savills on behalf of the Newmarket Road location, aims to open the restaurant from 6am to 11pm, seven days a week—adding one extra hour in the morning compared to current hours.

Details of the Proposal

Justification and Benefits

In their cover letter, Savills emphasized that the extra hour would not cause significant disruption, as no complaints have been received about current operations. They also highlighted that the restaurant receives the “bulk” of its customers during the early morning period and cited economic benefits from the extended hours.

“For example, Papa Johns is open until 3am each day of the week. This application simply seeks to extend the trading hours by an additional hour from that which is currently approved. We therefore anticipate that the proposal is entirely acceptable in terms of the extra hour of operation in the early morning trading period as no complaints have been received.”

Community Offers

Community members continue to receive special offers, promotions, and adverts from McDonald's and its partners. These can be opted out of at any time.

Author’s summary: McDonald's on Cambridge Road is seeking to open an hour earlier, citing minimal impact and economic benefits, despite previous rejections.
