Tributes are being made for Ian Leavers, Queensland’s Cross Border Commissioner and former police union president, who died unexpectedly.
Mr. Leavers, a long-time leader of the police union, was recognized as a prominent and influential figure. Premier David Crisafulli described him as a “dedicated, principled and driven” individual who earned respect for supporting the police service he loved.
“Queenslanders will remember his leadership during some of our State’s most tragic and defining events,” said Crisafulli.
