BBC presenter Sara Cox is preparing to take on one of Children in Need's most ambitious challenges to raise funds for the annual charity event.
Sara Cox will cover the equivalent distance of five marathons over five days, starting in Northumberland and ending in Pudsey near Leeds. At the finish, she will reunite with the famous Children in Need bear, Pudsey.
The journey begins in the picturesque Kielder Forest, a location that gained international attention this year as the filming site for key scenes in the zombie thriller 28 Years Later. The film was directed by Oscar winner Danny Boyle and shot across the North East last year.
Former Radio 1 presenter Sara Cox now hosts Radio 2 at Tea Time and leads the station's Book Club.
"Sara Cox is getting ready to take part in one of Children in Need's longest ever challenges, aiming to raise as much money as possible for the annual fundraiser."
"Sara will begin her epic mission in the idyllic surroundings of Kielder Forest, which has already been seen by audiences across the world this year."
Author's summary: Sara Cox launches a major Children in Need fundraising challenge, running 135 miles from scenic Kielder Forest to Pudsey, raising awareness and support.
