Edinburgh Trams to Commemorate Remembrance Day
Edinburgh Trams will honor Remembrance Sunday (9 November) and Armistice Day (11 November) by paying tribute to those who lost their lives in World War I, World War II, and more recent conflicts.
Free Travel for Veterans and Serving Military
To recognize the sacrifices of armed forces members, Edinburgh Trams will offer free travel for veterans and active personnel in the Army, Navy, and Air Force on both days. Eligible passengers need only show their military ID or wear their uniform to use this benefit.
Remembrance Activities
- Before the commemorations, Poppy Scotland will be selling poppies at the Haymarket tram stop for those wishing to support the cause.
- Poppies will also be displayed in tram windows as a symbol of remembrance.
- Where safe, trams will pause at 11 am on both days to observe a two-minute silence.
