The South Lake Tahoe City Council recently discussed a proposal to update the city seal. The current seal has remained unchanged since 1966.
Council member Scott Robbins suggested modifying the seal by changing the dotted line across Lake Tahoe to a diagonal line at the end. He argued this adjustment would more accurately represent the true state boundaries.
“The city seal has stood as a link between our past and present. It has marked every chapter of our city’s history and remains a powerful emblem of who we are,” said South Lake Tahoe City Clerk Susan Blankenship, advocating for preserving the original seal.
Author's summary: The South Lake Tahoe City Council unanimously passed an initial vote to consider updating the city seal for the first time since 1966, balancing tradition with accurate representation.
