David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof is now available for ticket purchase. The revival, starring Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle alongside Samira Wiley and Jin Ha, will be performed at the Booth Theatre starting March 31, 2026.
The play, directed by Tony winner Thomas Kail, will officially open on April 16, 2026. The story follows Catherine (played by Edebiri), the gifted but troubled daughter of a famous mathematics professor, Robert (played by Cheadle). After Robert’s death, a notebook with a groundbreaking proof is found, sparking questions about its true author. Catherine faces the challenge of defending her legacy and proving herself.
Proof premiered off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 2000 before moving to Broadway. The play garnered six Tony Award nominations, winning three, including Best Play, and earned the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
