Remembrance Sunday Services and Parades in Wirral

Wirral will observe a moment of silence this Remembrance Sunday as residents come together to honour those who have fallen, with services held throughout the borough on Sunday, 9 November.

Civic Service Details

The Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Brian Kenny, will lead the Civic Service starting at 10:55 AM at the Cenotaph in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead. A two-minute silence will be observed at 11:00 AM, followed by a traditional Service of Remembrance.

Following the wreath-laying, representatives of Wirral Council, the armed forces, various organizations, and relatives of servicemen lost in recent conflicts will participate. At the conclusion of the service, the Mayor and Deputy Lieutenant will take the salute at the march past, led by the 107 Field Squadron, Royal Engineers.

Public Participation

After the parade leaves Hamilton Square, members of the public are invited to place their own tributes on the Cenotaph.
