For the first time this school year, all school bus transportation will be cancelled Monday due to hazardous road conditions.
The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (STSCO) announced that, following a storm and slippery, icy roads, buses will not operate in Peterborough City and County, Northumberland, and Clarington.
The Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) advises drivers to keep an emergency kit in their vehicle in case of breakdowns during snowy weather.
Kevin Puckett emphasizes, “There are a few essential items you should include in your emergency kit.”
To prepare your vehicle for winter driving, Puckett recommends using snow tires and keeping an ample supply of washer fluid, describing these as “a recipe for success.”
These measures improve safety and vehicle performance during winter storms and icy conditions.
"Snow tires and lots of washer fluid are a recipe for success," says Puckett.
Author’s summary: School buses are cancelled due to icy roads, and drivers are urged to prepare emergency kits and winterize their cars with snow tires and sufficient washer fluid for safe travel.
