The French-inspired celebration, Dîner en Blanc, marks its 10th local anniversary this Saturday, having welcomed 15,000 guests over the past decade.
Dîner en Blanc is known for its air of mystery, with guests dressed entirely in white and the event location revealed only upon arrival.
The Perth edition started in 2016 with a self-catered riverside picnic at Elizabeth Quay, attracting hundreds of attendees.
In 2017, Caroline James, director of Atelier Events, took charge, hosting alongside her husband Rob James and sister Sarah Marshall.
“From the outset, Perth really embraced the global phenomenon of Dîner en Blanc – it was incredible to see our city join what was then a network of more than 200 events around the world,” said Ms. James to PerthNow.
“The event’s short but colourful history has made it a global standout,” local organisers note.
Author's summary: Perth’s Dîner en Blanc has become a beloved annual event, celebrated for its unique style and rapidly growing local community since 2016.
