Bryan Johnson, 48, who believes he is biologically over a decade younger than his age, has openly supported psychedelics for their mind-expanding benefits. As a biohacker, he recently shared his experience of taking magic mushrooms live on social media.
For his latest longevity experiment, Johnson consumed 4.67 grams of dried magic mushrooms containing 24.9 mg of psilocybin. He captured his entire 'trip' across various social platforms. Early photos show him lying on the floor with an eye mask and a blanket, appearing calm and content.
After rising to use the bathroom, a caption describes him spending 10 minutes staring at a glass of water, asking colleagues, “what does it mean?”
As the effects lessened, Johnson was shown happily eating a salad, calling it the "best salad" he had ever tasted. His business partner, Kate Tolo, commented on his X account, describing how Johnson “intentionally selected a mushroom for his first bite and then he thanked it” while still under the influence.
“The drugs made me feel like a kid again, finding and exploring a new playground,” Johnson said, adding that all his senses were heightened.
Johnson’s experience highlights how psychedelics can alter perception and enhance sensory awareness, a key part of his approach to longevity.
