On Tuesday, November 11, Surrey will host several events to commemorate Remembrance Day, recognizing the service, bravery, and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans.
“Remembrance Day is an opportunity for us to come together and reflect on the steadfast dedication of Canada’s veterans and those who continue to serve,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we enjoy and the communities we build. I encourage everyone to take a moment during Veterans Week and on Remembrance Day to reflect and express appreciation for the commitment and courage of our veterans and service members.”
Residents are encouraged to arrive early for parking or use alternative transportation such as biking or public transit. To help locate veterans or loved ones buried in city-operated cemeteries, Surrey now offers a searchable online map.
