Russell Westbrook recorded his record-breaking 204th career triple-double, guiding the Sacramento Kings to a 121–116 home victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
Westbrook delivered 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists, helping the Kings rally from a 13-point first-half deficit. Sacramento managed the comeback despite missing Zach LaVine, sidelined with lower back soreness, and Domantas Sabonis, out due to a rib contusion.
This surge pushed the Kings ahead 115–104, though the Warriors fought back with a 10–2 stretch to narrow the margin to three points in the final minute.
Rookie Will Richard scored 30 points in his first career start for the short-handed Warriors, who were missing their veteran core — Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler — due to injuries and illness.
With 14.8 seconds left, Schroder sealed the win by sinking two free throws, extending Sacramento’s lead to 119–114 before they closed it out 121–116.
“We just stayed composed, trusted each other, and kept fighting,” Westbrook said after the game. “That’s how we finished strong.”
Westbrook’s all-around brilliance and Sacramento’s late surge overcame a determined young Warriors team missing its stars, securing a crucial home victory.
