The Internal Audit Agency (IAA) of Liberia has announced plans to conduct an audit of all executive agencies in the country, as part of its efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in government.
The IAA, which is responsible for conducting audits of government agencies, has been mandated by the Legislature to conduct an audit of all executive agencies, including the ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) of the government.
"The IAA will conduct a comprehensive audit of all executive agencies to determine their level of compliance with the Fiscal Transparency and Accountability Act of 2015, and to identify areas of weakness and inefficiency in their operations," said a statement issued by the IAA.
The audit, which is expected to be completed within the next six months, will cover all executive agencies, including the Ministries of Finance, Justice, and Defense, as well as other MDAs.
The IAA stated that the audit will be conducted in accordance with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) standards, and will be carried out by a team of experienced auditors who will conduct a thorough examination of the financial and operational activities of each agency.
The audit is expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the financial and operational performance of each agency, and will help to identify areas of weakness and inefficiency in their operations.
The IAA has also assured the public that the audit will be conducted in a transparent and impartial manner, and that all findings and recommendations will be made public.
