Air Canada Targets Secondary

As the Canadian airline industry faces intense competition, Air Canada is focusing on its secondary markets to drive growth.

"We're looking at secondary markets to drive growth, and we're confident that we can be successful there," said Rupert Thomson, Air Canada's director of revenue management.

According to Thomson, the airline is targeting cities with populations of less than 1 million people, where it sees opportunities to increase market share.

Thomson noted that while these markets may not be as lucrative as the airline's main hubs, they offer opportunities for growth and expansion.

"We're not just looking at the big cities, we're looking at the smaller cities, too," he said.
