Due to the severe weather conditions, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) has announced a snow day for all its schools. This means that all in-person classes are cancelled, and students will have the day off to enjoy the winter weather.
“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the weather conditions and will make any necessary decisions regarding school closures,‣ said Rob MacIsaac, Director of Education, HWDSB.
Students are expected to catch up on any missed work when they return to school. Parents and guardians are advised to check the HWDSB website and social media for updates on school closures and other important information.
“Snow days are a great opportunity for students to relax and recharge. I encourage them to make the most of this time and have fun,‣ said MacIsaac.
Resuming school after a snow day can be a bit challenging, but with a little planning and effort, students can get back on track quickly. Teachers and staff will be available to support students in catching up on any missed work.
