Commonwealth youth call for global action on climate change

At the Commonwealth Youth Forum, young people from across the globe voiced their concerns about the impact of climate change on their communities.

They called for immediate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support those most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

"We are the voice of the voiceless and we will not be silenced," said Yvonne Aciro, a youth delegate from Uganda.

"We demand that our leaders take urgent action to reduce carbon emissions and invest in renewable energy," she added.

The Commonwealth Youth Forum brought together 500 young people from across the Commonwealth to discuss key issues affecting their communities.

The forum was part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in London.

Young people from across the Commonwealth shared their experiences and ideas on how to address the climate crisis.

Key demands

"We are not just victims of climate change, we are also the leaders of the future," said Nalaka Gunawardene, a youth delegate from Sri Lanka.
