On Saturday, Metro Detroit residents can receive free Alzheimer's screenings offered by Neurogen Biomarking, a Chicago-based company focused on improving brain health care access.
The event, named "Capturing Memories," will be held from 10 a.m. at Insight Dearborn, located at 5111 Auto Club Drive, Suite 101.
More than 203,000 seniors in Michigan live with Alzheimer's, and the state has one of the fastest-growing older adult populations in the U.S.
"Brain health deserves the same priority as heart health. If we can test people with cognitive concerns early, we can intervene early." — Rany Aburashed, neurologist and CEO of Neurogen Biomarking
Aburashed emphasized that families often wait too long to seek specialized care, usually after significant memory loss has occurred.
Neurogen notes that this screening package typically costs about $500, making the free event a valuable opportunity.
Early, accessible Alzheimer's screening helps identify cognitive decline sooner, enabling timely intervention and better brain health outcomes.
